Goblins are a very common race of small humanoids who live mainly in mountainous areas. There are many different kinds of goblins with different abilities. They are known for their great dexterity and also their fearlessness. Goblins are also known for their desire to destroy evil creatures. Goblins usually work together with other creatures in groups.

Since the original Orcs & Goblins expansion in Alpha, Goblin decks have been a favorite among casual, competitive, and pro Magic: The Gathering players alike. That hasn’t changed in the new Hextech set, with classic Goblins like Goblin Arsonist and Rabble-Rouser returning to the game and new cards like Goblin Trooper and Goblin War Drums making their debut.

Avacyn Restored has arrived, and with her, she brought along a slew of new Goblin creature cards. Now you’re probably wondering what you can expect out of these cards. I’ve played a bit with the new cards, and I thought I would collate my thoughts into this post so you can see what you should expect from these cards. A few of them are great, some have fantastic synergy with existing cards, and a few are pure power. If you’re looking to build a new deck or pick up some new cards, then these are the goblins you should check out.

word-image-2565 Making a tribal deck is one of the easiest types of decks. First, you have to choose a certain creature type from the wide variety that Magic: the Gathering offers and add cards to your deck that support that creature type. There are many tribes to choose from, but one of the most popular is the Goblins. So are you looking for Goblins for your deck? We’ve put together a list of the best Goblin cards in MTG for you.

What are leprechauns?

Goblins are everywhere in the media. There are books, movies, and television shows about these tiny, ugly creatures, and each medium may have its own definition. So what is a Goblin in Magic: the Gathering? The Goblins in MTG are pretty much the same as everywhere else. They are small, generally unintelligent, and greedy. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use them in your decks. As a tribe, Goblins are fast and generally easy to bring onto the battlefield. They are usually strongly associated with red mana, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a Goblin in every MTG color combination.

The best Goblin cards in MTG

1. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker

Ask any experienced Magic player what the best Goblins in the game are, and we bet KikiJiki, the mirror destroyer, will be one of the first to come to mind. This powerful goblin should never be underestimated, as you can use it to make a token copy of any non-legendary creature you control. Kiki-Jiki also gives this token a boost. This means you can attack with it immediately, which is great because the token must be sacrificed at the beginning of the next turn’s end step. A popular strategy with this card is to use it to copy cards with ETB (enter the battlefield) effects. This will trigger this effect again when the marker is created.

2. Krenko, Mob Boss

If you want to overwhelm your opponents with a veritable army of goblins quickly, choose Krenko, the boss mob. Deployment creates X 1/1 red goblin tokens, where X is the number of goblins you already control. In other words: Krenko doubles the number of Goblins you have on the battlefield. Of course, you’ll have to use it to do this, but many cards can help you use permanents. Combine it with enough of these creatures, and you can create an endless army of goblins to overwhelm your enemies.

3. Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician

A flooded country? Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician, can help you with its second ability, which allows you to sacrifice lands to create Goblin tokens. But the best thing about Ib Halfheart is that it turns all your goblins into bombs. If someone decides to block your Goblins, sacrifice them and deal 4 damage to the creatures they block. Your opponents will always face the choice of taking damage or losing their armies when your goblins attack them. Ib Halfheart is also a good match for Krenko, Mob Boss. Of course, this also works with almost any card that generates cheap Goblin tokens.

4. Grenzo, ravage-maker

word-image-5261 He may not seem that impressive at first glance, but Grenzo, Havoc Raiser, is a fantastic goblin. As the name suggests, the battlefield turns to chaos in an instant. Keep in mind that Goblin Tribe decks tend to bring large numbers of Goblins to the battlefield to attack. Grenzo has an ability that triggers when one of your many goblins (or just creatures in general) comes in and does combat damage to another player. You may choose whether to summon a creature from that player or discard the top library card and play it yourself when this happens. The incentive is an incredibly powerful keyword. This means you can force an opponent’s creature to attack the next turn, and he can’t attack you with that creature. Wonder why Goad is useful? It is ideal for mind games and to stir up rivalry at the table. Another benefit is that it increases the chance that your opponent’s creature that received the summons will die by being blocked or destroyed.

5. Warren’s instigator

Goblins are the best for getting onto the battlefield quickly and cheaply. Cards like Warren Instigator emphasize this power. Each time Warren the Instigator damages an opponent, you may place a Goblin card from your hand onto the field. It’s like getting a free creature to add to your growing Goblin army. Warren Instigator also has a double, meaning he hits twice. If you want to do more damage, equip him with +1/+1 counters or add equipment so he can do more damage.

6. Goblin Piledriver

You’ll probably find many of them on the battlefield if you’re collecting a Goblin deck. With the Goblin Piledriver, you can make your Goblin wave even more powerful. Indeed, until the end of the turn, if he attacks, he gets +2 to his strength for every other Goblin that attacks with him, as you can see. If you’ve collected a lot of tokens or have a bunch of goblins on the battlefield attacking you, Goblin Piledriver can easily become a finisher. The fact that it has blue protection isn’t bad either. This means that blue cards cannot hit him or damage him in any way.

7. Vexing Shusher

Finally, a Goblin that isn’t pure red or red-black on this list, with the infamous Vexing Shusher. This is a crazy card to put in a Goblin deck if you can put green in it. First of all, it’s only two mana. And any of these colors of mana can be paid in red or green, so it doesn’t matter if one color or the other runs out. Second, the Vexing Hunter itself cannot be dodged by your opponents. It comes out no matter when you throw it. You can pay another red or green mana to prevent counterspells when it expires. You no longer have to deal with frustrating blue spells that stop one of your own.

8. Dockside Extortionist

The Dockside Extortionist card is not only interesting but lives up to its name. This Goblin Pirate creates several Treasure Chits equal to the number of artifacts and enchantments under your opponents’ control for just one red mana and one total mana. By the way: A treasure token is an artifact that can be bound and sacrificed to add mana of color to your mana pool. You can use Dock Ransomware to increase your mana base quickly if you’re a little behind or need to launch something expensive.

9. Goblin Sharpshooter

Goblin Sharpshooter is a simple card. It’s great for getting rid of small creatures or just hitting opponents, as you can hit it to make one point of damage to a creature or player. It is not normally deployed during your deployment step, but it is when another creature dies. If you have many goblins attacking, many of them will likely die, which will make it easier to use the goblin sniper. However, this also applies when your opponents’ creatures die, so the tide often turns.

10. Legion Loyalist

In a deck where you probably have a lot of Goblin creatures, Legion Loyalist is a must. Each time he attacks with at least two other creatures, those creatures get the first hit and move for that turn. They also become free-to-play creature tokens. If you’ve created many Goblin tokens, Legionnaire can be another finishing card that strengthens them. Consider adding it to any game of goblin tribe.

If you’re a little nervous about building a deck, choosing a tree trunk can make the process much easier. However, some tribes have more support than others, meaning they have more options to include in your deck. Goblins are an example of an excellent and ancient tribe that has been around since Alpha. This means they have a lot of support, and it’s easy to build a Goblin tribal deck. The Slivers are another ancient and powerful tribe. You can learn more about it in our guide that shows which MTG kits include splitters. Magic: the Gathering has flooded the game with immediately recognizable cards in its long and storied history. (Seriously, how do you forget such classics as Goblin Lackey and Goblin Warchief?) But even the game’s most iconic cards sometimes fall on hard times. (It’s hard to imagine a world where Goblin Piledriver isn’t a core piece of any Bloodbraid Elf deck, for example.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the best elf?

A: With all these Goblin options, you might be wondering which one is the best? From an MTG perspective, we would pick Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, as the best Goblin. But not just because it’s a Goblin card. If he was literally from another tribe, it still sounds like he’s incredibly strong. Copying any non-legendary creature card you control gives you unlimited combo options. You can check out the EDHREC combos page to see just a fraction of the combos people use with Kiki-Jiki in their Commander decks.

Is the Goblin King a goblin?

A: If you’re wondering if the Goblin King is a Goblin, we’re willing to bet you’re looking at a very old issue, like the one above. The old copies of the cards say Summon the Lord instead of Creature – Goblin. A lord was an ancient type of being who served the creatures of a particular tribe. The Goblin King, for example, gives all Goblins +1/+1 and the ability to run over mountains. However, the term lord is outdated, and the new editions of the Goblin King give the goblin as a creature type. So, in other words, yes, the Goblin King is considered a goblin.

What is the best card in Magic The Gathering 2022?

A: Seeking to improve their position in the MTG ephemeral market, Wizards of the Coast introduced a new edition in 2021. The set is designed to bring new and returning Magic players into the game while still having enough cards for competitive formats like Modern. Magic the Gathering is the best card game ever made. I played it for ages back in the day, and even though I haven’t touched my cards in years, I almost always know the latest info on the game. So, when I heard the rumors of the new MTG game coming out, I was excited. Now they’ve just released it, and boy, it looks sweet. I’ve been playing for a week now, and I’m hooked.

What is the best Goblin card?

A: When it comes to deckbuilding, many players want to be able to play as many of the best cards as possible. However, it’s important to focus on curving out when it comes to limits, which often means playing the most efficient two-drop or three-mana creatures. Still, even the most efficient creatures can’t carry a weak Limited deck. The best cards are often the ones that win the game. If you’re looking to play in your next event, here’s our list of the best goblin cards in Magic: The Gathering. What are the best cards from Kaldheim?

A: As you can tell by the name, Affiliation is a site for product reviews. And in between the reviews, you will find articles on such subjects as the Best MTG Cards Ever and the History of the MTG Movies. But most of all, you will find a sense of community. Active forums let players discuss all things MTG, and the staff is more than happy to answer your questions or just chat. Asked to build a specific site, Kaldheim is best known for its synergy-driven limited play, where connections between cards run deeper than most sets. But it also has a dedicated following among constructed players, who enjoy the set’s quirky theme of “cartoon goblins” and creative new applications of Magic’s color pie.
