The BauBax sweatshirt is changing the game by giving you a lifetime of comfort at one low price. In addition, the company has built an entirely new vestibule around its high-quality vest that allows for quick and easy exchange, even internationally.

Why? Because there are almost 20 features on this hoodie. We get what you’re thinking: how can merely 20+ features be enough?

All joking aside, we discovered over our two weeks of testing that this sweatshirt had just too much going on. While some of the functions are beneficial, the majority are excessive. If you utilize all of them at once, or even most of them, the sweater will become thick and heavy—like five pounds heavy.

Features, Fit, and Fabric

We like the BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 as a sweatshirt. It’s warm and inviting. In addition, the sleeves are comprised of a plush, silky fabric that would make an excellent blanket.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 MaterialIt also looks beautiful (as long as it isn’t filled). You may get it in Charcoal or Navy at the time of this review. We like both alternatives since we prefer darker hues for travel because they blend in and cover stains.

We’re not lovers of all the pockets/accessories/more pockets, although it’s a comfortable, stylish hoodie. The BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 reminds us of having a cat. It’s cute, cuddly, and warm—but it keeps offering you “things” you don’t want. “Gifts,” in this case, refers to a million and one characteristics.

Let’s start with the outside of the jacket.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 PenA detachable pen/stylus is attached to the sweatshirt’s zipper that spans the length of the garment. We’re not unhappy with this feature since pens are helpful when traveling—customs paperwork, impromptu games of Tic-Tac-Toe with your seatmate (only us? ), and so on. The stylus bulb, however, isn’t of the most excellent quality. In the two weeks that I’ve been trying it, it’s slipped off twice. We’ve been able to stuff it back on so far, but we’re not sure how long this method will last.

BauBax also contains a few ink refills, which are essential given the pen’s small size and the likelihood of quickly running out of ink, especially if you like playing Tic-Tac-Toe.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Passport PocketA mesh pouch on the wearer’s front left, according to BauBax, is for passports. We love having a separate space for our keys since traveling frequently necessitates one.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Can PocketA pocket on the wearer’s front right is designed to accommodate a can of your favorite beverage. No, that’s exactly what it’s for. While we applaud BauBax for making this pocket water-resistant (the condensation from your ice-cold drink won’t seep into the fabric and onto your skin), we’re not confident that carrying soda in a chest pocket is practical. It’s not very comfy, and it looks odd. Plus, with turbulence present, we wouldn’t trust placing an open can inside it.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Pocket ClaspBoth the right and left bottoms of the sweatshirt include a hand-warming pocket. However, these aren’t your average hand warmer pockets, either. You may clip objects to the attachment points on both sides if you like. For example, consider a set of keys or a multi-tool. However, the one on the right has already broken (we’ll go over this in more detail in the durability section).

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 WhistleA retractable whistle and a bottle opener are also included in the right pocket. We haven’t found much use for these—we prefer the bottle openers on multi-tools—and we haven’t found ourselves in any scenarios where a whistle would be helpful, though we appreciate that it may be useful in certain situations.

You may easily disconnect the whistle/bottle opener and link your keys to the retractable elastic leash if you’re like us and don’t find these gadgets especially handy. Remove the retractable leash entirely if you choose. You may alternatively relocate the leash to the left side pocket and secure it using the previously described connection point. Again, there are so many alternatives.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 GlovesThere are “detachable gloves” tucked inside the sleeves, according to BauBax. They’re just thin slices of cloth that reach partly up to your hands and have thumb holes, so we wouldn’t call them gloves. (Think about something you’d see on a sports sweater.) We like them since they’re warm and have thumb openings, but gloves are a reach.

They are velcro removable, as stated. We’ve never had a need to wear them without the sweater since they’re not really warm. The velcro also gives the cuffs more rigidity. It’s not a major problem, but it’s worth noting.

Whew. Are you still with us? It’s a good thing since it’s time to zip this thing up.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Footrest And Blanket PocketTwo pockets for a travel blanket and inflatable footrest are located on the left side of the inside of the BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0. Both of these are included in the package. Because the pockets are split by velcro, they flop open when subjected to weight. The blanket and footrest have both fallen out many times, which is clearly inconvenient. We don’t rule out the possibility of losing them in the next months.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 BlanketThe blanket isn’t that impressive. It’s little, yet it’s big. It may be useful for a snooze on a lengthy airline flight or as a scarf in a hurry.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 FootrestThe footrest, on the other hand, hasn’t piqued our interest. Let’s face it, do you really need an inflatable footrest with you all the time? You don’t, according to us. Of course, if you think a footrest would be useful on lengthy bus journeys or flights, you’ll like having one. Please don’t let us ruin your party.

You may even remove the footrest from the sweatshirt and just use it when you’re sure you’ll need it.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Power BankIf you want to charge your phone inside your sweatshirt, you can put a battery bank in the footrest pocket and run a cable up to your phone in the cell phone pocket (which we’ll talk about in a minute). There’s even a cable passthrough in the form of a little slit. We’re not big fans of charging our phones in sweatshirts, but you do you.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Earplugs And AirPodsThere are two little compartments above that, each with a stitched separator. BauBax earplugs may be found in one of the pockets. We have nothing to complain about here since earplugs are usually a good idea while traveling. The opposite side is ideal for AirPods, and we’ve discovered that we use it more than the other pockets on this gadget.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Phone PocketA zippered mobile phone pocket is located above those pockets and slightly to the left. We especially appreciate the inside, which is constructed of a silky mesh.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Sunglasses PocketThe uppermost pocket on the wearer’s right inside side is for sunglasses. It also comes with a microfiber cloth for simple cleaning. When you’re not using the cloth, it doesn’t get in the way, and everyone who wears glasses or sunglasses knows how useful a microfiber cloth is. So, this is a useful feature.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Tablet PocketThe massive tablet pocket is underneath that, and it’s definitely our least favorite pocket on this travel jacket. It’s really evident that you’re holding a tablet if you use it to hold it. The right half of your body seems to be a massive, flat square. Yes, it seems to be as ridiculous as it sounds. However, it’s also rather substantial.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 RFID Wallet The people at BauBax are now touting a hidden RFID pocket as a feature. It’s a mystery since the placement varies from sweatshirt to sweatshirt (ours happens to be in the tablet pocket). Presumably, so that criminals using RFID readers don’t go to the BauBax website, figure out where the RFID pocket is, and then decide to forego the RFID reader and take your credit card information the old-fashioned way (which is, of course, pickpocketing).

In all honesty, we don’t understand why this RFID pocket is kept hidden. The purpose of an RFID blocker is to prevent hackers from using radio waves to steal your critical information. So, unless we’re missing something, it shouldn’t matter whether they know where your credit card is.

Anyway. It’s also not a full pocket; instead, it’s a small, detachable wallet-like item that’s velcroed to the bag. If you don’t want it, you can delete it. However, it’s a valuable tool if you’re worried about RFID theft.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Water BottleThe supplied travel water bottle is also stored in this tablet pocket; however, it may be stowed in other pockets on the sweatshirt. When it’s complete, though, it’s not meant to fit in a bag.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Pen PocketFinally, there’s a little pocket for your Apple Pencil on the right side. If you don’t have an Apple Pencil, you may keep any similarly shaped object in this pocket or ignore it since it isn’t in the way.

Okay, we’re coming close to the finish line. There are just a few more features to add.

Two hooks under the hood retain an AirPod strap to keep your AirPods from falling out. The loops poke the back of your neck, which is fantastic. Unfortunately, the strap is also not firmly connected to the sweatshirt. During our first few days of testing, we misplaced it and had to replace it with a belt from our BauBax Windbreaker. Then we lost that strap as well. Irony?

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Neck PillowThere’s also a space for an inflated neck pillow, which comes with an inflatable neck cushion. When put up, it may be loud and crinkly, but it’s safe and secure in this pocket, so you shouldn’t lose it (unlike the inflatable footrest and blanket). In addition, the cushion itself is soft.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 Eye MaskLast but not least, there’s the built-in eye mask. It’s attached to the hood and snaps into place when not in use, so it’s out of the way. Unbutton it and pull the mask over your eyes to use it. It functions well. Thanks to the eye mask, neck cushion, and blanket, you should have a very comfortable trip.

Testing & Durability

We’ve been testing the BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 for two weeks and counting in Detroit, Michigan. We believe it is excessive for virtually any tourist. It becomes hefty if all of the features are used. It’s also bulky, making it difficult to wear and, to put it mildly, unstylish.

The Sweatshirt 2.0, according to BauBax, is ideal for TSA since you can remove the sweatshirt, throw it in a container, and call it a day. We, on the other hand, aren’t so sure. Walking through airport security with a baggy, bulging sweater that may or may not have cables running down it while you charge your phone makes us a bit uneasy. We believe it seems strange, but that’s just our opinion.

BauBax Sweatshirt 2.0 In DetroitIf carrying a backpack or sling bag is inconvenient for you, you may enjoy the many pockets on this travel jacket. Mainly if you utilize a few of the capabilities at a time, reducing the overall weight and bulkiness of the device.

We have a few minor issues to highlight in terms of durability. As previously stated, the stylus end of the pen is loosening. While this isn’t a major flaw, we are disappointed that the connection point within the right hand-warming pocket snapped after just a few weeks of use. This has a significant influence on functioning. It’s also not a promising omen of things to come.
