The Scrubba Wash Bag is a unique piece of travel gear that promises “clean clothing wherever,” which is something everyone wants. Every long-term traveler in the globe needs to deal with cleaning their clothing, so a device that promises to make it simpler is surely worth looking into.

We’ve been using the Scrubba Wash Bag on vacations throughout the UK for little over a month at the time of this review. So, can you really get “clean clothing everywhere” with this thing? Let’s get started.

Aesthetics & Materials

At first sight, the Scrubba Wash Bag may seem to be a standard dry bag, which is understandable given that it may be used as such.

If you look closely, you’ll see instructions on how to wash your clothing on the exterior, which is quite useful and should clarify precisely what this device is for. A huge Scrubba logo appears on the front, as well as a smaller logo on the rolltop.

We chose the green version, which is a strong color—especially for us—but it makes it easier to discover it within your pack, which we appreciate. There is also a black variant for those who like to be less noticeable.

Scrubba also sells a “tactical” wash bag that was created in collaboration with a former Australian SAS Team Leader and is “ideal for military, outdoor explorers, disaster relief, zombie preppers, and superheroes,” according to the company. While we can’t see Captain America or The Hulk using a Scrubba Wash Bag (we’ll keep an eye out in forthcoming superhero flicks), the extra-large valve and brown color make it suitable for the military.

40D Nylon With TPU Coating On The Scrubba Wash BagThe Scrubba Wash Bag is made of 40D nylon with a TPU coating.

The Scrubba Wash Bag is composed of TPU-coated 40D nylon. You’ve almost likely come across Nylon before—a it’s popular fabric known for its toughness while being lightweight and flexible. The “40D” portion refers to the fabric’s Denier, which is a textile measuring unit that indicates how thick a fabric is. (It’s a little more involved than that; just remember that a higher denier indicates a thicker material.) We found 40D to be a fantastic blend of strength and lightweight in our tests, so it’s all good here.

If you’ve never heard of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) or just want to learn more about it, Scrubba’s website does an excellent job of delving into the details:

“Polyurethane is one of those miraculous compounds that improves many of the things we use on a daily basis – even though most of us aren’t aware of it!” ‘No other plastic enables itself to be produced to measure in the same manner as a polyurethane,’ according to the Essential Chemical Industry. Foams may be soft or stiff, resistant to cold or gentle on the skin.’ This versatile chemical may also be applied as a spray or a coating, providing essential protection against corrosion and abrasion. For many years, TPU has been utilized in the textile sector, where it has shown to be effective and is especially renowned for its remarkable abrasion resistance.”

We noticed that these materials give the Scrubba Wash Bag a crinkly, plastic-like feel, but it’s evident that Scrubba has given this a lot of attention, and it all works out well.

Benefits & Usage

Rolled Up & Compressed Scrubba Wash BagScrubba Wash Bag, Rolled and Compressed

The Scrubba Wash Bag is designed specifically for travel, when weight and space are limited. Fortunately, this device is just 5 ounces and can be easily folded or coiled up to conserve room. The Scrubba Wash Bag may also be used as a dry bag, which adds to its travel perks. We’re delighted to see that Scrubba has delivered on this front. Versatile items with various purposes are always in demand, and we’re happy to see that Scrubba has delivered on this front.

It’s simple to wash your clothing inside this device, but it’s not completely failsafe, as we learned when we left the valve open throughout the scrubbing process. When you drop a little glass of water, it seems to turn into 10 liters and splatters all over the place? It wasn’t a pleasant experience. Fortunately for you, that’s why we test—so you don’t make the same errors we did.

Without further ado, here are the six easy steps to using this bad boy to wash your clothing. (If you forget, they are also easily located on the front.)

Putting Clothes in the Scrubba Wash Bag

1. Add clothing, water, and soap to the container: The number of things you put in the Scrubba Wash Bag determines how thoroughly, quickly, and efficiently it washes your clothing. Two t-shirts, two pairs of underwear, and two pairs of socks have shown to be the ideal combo. If you load the bag much higher, you risk overfilling it, which will result in clothing that aren’t as clean as they may be. Thicker and heavier articles of clothes, such as a sweater and pants, may be washed in the Scrubba Wash Bag, although it may take a couple of washes. And at two to three minutes each wash, this isn’t a huge deal.

Filling The Scrubba Wash Bag With WaterAdding Water to the Scrubba Wash Bag

Warm water will work best, but be careful not to use too hot water. If it’s too hot for your hands, it’s too hot for the Scrubba, according to a decent rule of thumb. If you’re out in the woods—or living in a sketchy hostel—and don’t have access to warm water, chilly can do; just scrub for an additional minute.

The quantity of water required is determined on the number of clothing you have inside. Scrubba has thought of everything, so there’s a handy instruction on the front of the wash bag that may be used in combination with the see-through panel.

It’s now time to add your soap to the container. Specific clothing cleaning solutions work best in this situation, and as little as 2ml would suffice. Solid detergents, such as powders and leaves, may be used, but the water will take longer to get soapy. Handwash, body wash, and shampoo may also be used in a hurry, although they won’t clean as well.

The Scrubba Wash Bag is rolled down and clipped.

2. Roll down and clip: You don’t want water to spill all over the place, so this is a critical step to do properly. Make sure the top is rolled down securely and the buckle is fastened. We’d also consider pulling on the buckle to double-check.

Using the Valve to Deflate the Scrubba Wash Bag

3. Use the front valve to deflate: The front valve twists open and closed, and it’s simple to see whether it’s open or closed. You’ll want to open it slightly and press down on the bag to release some air for this step. If you don’t shut the valve once you’ve done this, water will stream out when you start cleaning. (We haven’t made this blunder and had water all over the place.) Nope.)

Scrubba Wash Bag Rubbing

4. Rub for 1-3 minutes: It’s time to get down to business! Simply push down on the bag’s top and massage your garments up and down. You can see precisely what’s going on thanks to the see-through screen, and you can even watch the water color shift quite a bit (eww). One minute is plenty for a few socks and t-shirts, but two to three minutes is recommended for bigger things like slacks and sweaters.

5. Rinse with clean water: Pour a tiny quantity of clean water into the unclean water for a final wash. You may also tip that water aside after a quick shake.

Taking Clothes Out Of The Scrubba And Pressing Them

6. Dry your clothing (and your Scrubba): Take your clean garments out of the washing machine and hang them to dry. To speed up the procedure, rapidly press them inside a towel to absorb any remaining water. Finally, using the clipping clasp at the top, flip the Scrubba Wash Bag inside out and hang it up.

That’s all there is to it, nice and straightforward. Apart from the convenience of being able to wash your clothing anywhere (which is fantastic), we discovered that the Scrubba Wash Bag has several distinct advantages over traditional washing techniques.

When opposed to hand-washing in a sink or bucket, using this device is gentle on your hands. This is because your hands will remain dry during the procedure and will not get uncomfortable since the inside washboard will do all of the heavy lifting for you.

Scrubba Wash Bag also offers advantages over a washing machine. You may save a lot of water and electricity by washing your clothing inside a Scrubba (apart from a tiny bit of your own, of course). This gadget is also a lot quicker than a washing machine for smaller loads, which is a great plus.

Testing & Durability

We’ve been using the Scrubba Wash Bag for just over a month at the time of this review, and it’s seen plenty of action on our travels throughout the UK. It still looks brand new, which is impressive.

We had our worries about its endurance at first, but this device has proved us wrong. The workmanship is exceptional, and the materials have proved to be long-lasting. Check out our use history below to see how it’s holding up over a long period of time.

In our testing, we discovered that mastering the washing procedure takes some time, but it’s easy and simple enough for anybody to pick up on. And we’re pleased to report that the Scrubba Wash Bag lives up to its claim of “clean clothing wherever.”

Using The Scrubba Wash BagThe Scrubba Wash Bag in Action

While we’ve had a lot of fun putting this to the test, we’ve discovered that the Scrubba Wash Bag leaves your clothing dripping wet after washing—hopefully, their next invention will be a portable clothes drier (if only). It’s just a little inconvenience compared to handwashing, but it’s still inconvenient, and we suggest pressing your clothing inside a towel before hanging them up.

Whether or whether you will gain from this is mostly dependent on your travel style, since it is not for everyone. You may not need a Scrubba if you intend on staying at fancy hotels or Airbnbs with washing machines, and you may save room in your bag by not bringing one. The Scrubba Wash Bag, on the other hand, may be a game-changer if you’re living in hostels and traveling to isolated locations.

The “scrubba wash bag philippines” is a travel wash bag that can be used for both laundry and dirty clothes. It has a waterproof design and comes with a scrubba cloth. This product is perfect for those who love to travel and stay organized.
