Uniqlo’s AIRism Boxer Briefs are designed to make you comfortable in the heat. This underwear is made of 55% recycled polyester and 45% air (oxygen, not carbon dioxide), making it excellent in the summertime when perspiration evaporates into your skin, providing an instant cooling effect. They also use a new patented fabric that will keep you feeling dry all day long due to its quick-drying properties with no itchiness or stinging sensation. I tried this out on my last trip and loved how these briefs kept me fresh even during high physical activity outings like hiking, running, or cycling!

Briefs or boxers? It’s an age-old subject that’s sparked years, if not millennia, of discussion among humankind, with the oldest evidence of these disputes being unearthed in a sequence of hieroglyphics in ancient Egypt going back to about 2900 BC.

While most of it isn’t accurate, you no longer have to pick between those two binary alternatives. The boxer short combines the comfort of fighters with the support of a brief to get the best of both worlds. There are many options, but the Uniqlo Airism Boxer Brief attracted our attention.

Uniqlo AIRism Boxer BriefsIf you’re new to Uniqlo or AIRism, we went into more depth about Uniqlo as a brand and their AIRism series when we reviewed their crewneck T-shirt, so if you’re unfamiliar or need a refresher, go check it out. Uniqlo, like that T-shirt, gets a lot of things right with its boxer shorts.

First and foremost, they’ve nailed the look by opting for the boxer brief. It’s only common sense. You get the best of both worlds: being supported and kept in place while having the comfort and movement of shorts. Briefs might be too tight, boxers can be too loose, and going commando is a complete waste of time. The center ground is the ideal place to be.

The comfortable and silky-smooth fabric is another fantastic selling feature of them. The degree of comfort is comparable to any other pair of boxer briefs, although the material may vary from what you’re accustomed to. These are constructed of 89 percent polyester and 11 percent spandex, a synthetic substance. If you’re a purist who has only ever worn natural fibers, don’t be put off by these synthetics. The sensation is genuine. The softness is excellent. There’s also a practical component to this. Since the fabric is practically smooth and therefore has very little friction, the jeans you wear over these Uniqlo boxer briefs won’t drag your underwear all over the place all day.

Uniqlo AIRism Boxer BriefsAnother advantage of synthetic material is that it dries quickly. That’s useful for things like dealing with sweat after a run or washing a pair at night and drying them in the morning. Unlike standard fabrics like cotton, these Uniqlo boxer briefs will dry significantly faster.

The only complaint we have about these Uniqlo boxer briefs is the fit. These function admirably in most areas, such as the waistline and front panel. The waist is smooth and elastic, and it fits snugly against your skin. The front panel also allows your manhood to roam freely in whatever way it sees fit. Other boxer briefs don’t enable this since the fabric and fit in this area are too tight. This isn’t the case in this scenario, which is fantastic.

On the other hand, these Uniqlo boxer briefs seemed a little too small at times. It appears to be related to the length of the leg, or the inseam if you want to be technical, after many wears and careful thought about why that happened. The inseam is relatively short, which, combined with the somewhat higher rise (the distance between the crotch and the waistband), the fit seems a little tight at times. It’s not insurmountable; after an hour or two of wearing them, the slight discomfort subsided. But, honestly, do you want to have to get accustomed to wearing underwear?

Given all of the benefits mentioned above and the low price, we believe you do.
