iBUYPOWER was nice enough to offer us another of their high-performance gaming PCs so we could evaluate how it compares to some of the other reasonably priced rivals on the market. This is their gaming PC, the Element 9260. It has an Intel i7-9700F processor and the NVIDIA 1660Ti GPU, one of NVIDIA’s newest GPUs.
We’ll be putting the iBUYPOWER PC through its paces today to see how it performs in various situations, including the newest games, intensive multi-tasking workflows, creative projects, and regular day-to-day use. We’ll also assess how upgradeable this build is and whether or not it’s futureproofed.
How We Conducted Our Research?
This iBUYPOWER PC, like the previous one we evaluated, was supplied to us for evaluation. But don’t believe that means we’re prejudiced toward their goods. On the contrary, it will thoroughly test this prebuilt gaming PC like all other hardware components we get. That includes putting it through a variety of scenarios to guarantee it fulfills our standards and yours.
We prefer to start by testing a few games and then calculating average FPS scores across several screens and settings. We next put the gaming PC to work on general chores to get a better overall impression. Overview of the Project
As you can see from the specifications, the iBUYPOWER’s component list is a bit of a mixed bag. The individuals who put this prebuilt together prioritized gaming performance, using a solid GPU and CPU combo. However, there are certain compromises with the Element 9260 gaming PC; the most notable are the RAM, PSU, and SSD.
But don’t let it deter you; this is still a tremendous prebuilt gaming PC. It will be able to play almost any game in 1080p at approximately 100FPS and be capable of mild multitasking. When it comes to 1440p, you’ll notice a noticeable loss in frame rate, although most games are still playable.
Now that the specifications are out of the way let’s look at the primary things this computer offers. iBUYPOWER is known for going above and above, so let’s take a look at some of the highlights.
The first thing to note about this build is that it is VR compatible. That’s correct. With this PC, the virtual world will be at your fingers; all you need to do now is buy a VR headset and you’re good to go. It may not be as visually realistic as playing the current Call Of Duty in the traditional manner, but it’s a nice little tool to have.

So, before we get into the performance benchmarks of this prebuilt gaming PC, let’s look at some of the advantages and disadvantages we observed throughout our testing.

As we noted earlier in the article, the components used by iBUYPOWER for this build were designed with gamers in mind. Almost every AAA game can be played at 1080p, which is ideal for individuals who want to compete in esports, and most games can be played at 1440p.
The CPU is well-suited to high-intensity gaming, but it’s also capable of light multitasking and creative workflow chores. As a result, this build is a beautiful small all-arounder that offers decent value for money.
Like all iBUYPOWER PCs, this one comes with their standard 1-year parts & labor warranty – fantastic if any issues occur within that initial period. The system is all set up with Windows and even comes with a keyboard and mouse, meaning you can plug and play right out of the box – if you have a monitor.
So, with that out of the way, let’s have a look at how this device did in the WePC testing lab. Let’s also address the fundamental issue around a PC of this caliber: is it worth your hard-earned money?
Let’s take a closer look at how this gaming PC performs in real-world scenarios now that we’ve hypothesized what it should be capable of. Even if this PC was supplied to us for evaluation, don’t expect us to sugarcoat the findings if they aren’t up to par. That is not going to happen. It’ll go through the same rigorous testing methods as everything else, and we’ll be the first to tell you if it’s not worth your hard-earned money.
The iBUYPOWER Element 9260 gaming PC was put through its paces in a variety of situations, including gaming, workflows, multitasking, rendering, and everyday usage.
Let’s get started without further ado.
Gaming was the first, and maybe most important, the test we ran on this PC. The games below were all put through their paces in a variety of settings and resolutions to see how well they performed in both low and high-intensity conditions.
The games we tried are listed below:
Each game was picked because it places a slightly different strain on the computer. As a result, we’ll be able to support games that need more single- and multi-core processing, as well as titles that are more visually demanding.
One thing I’ll note right away is that I was blown away by the gaming performance this PC provided when we attempted playing in 1440p. We had predicted that the iBUYPOWER PC would run well at 1080p, and we were right. It was, however, more than capable of handling 1440p games. When the settings were exactly perfect, even 4K was a possibility.
First up, we’ll take a look at Red Dead Redemption 2, a famous Rockstar game. It’s one of the most difficult games on the list, so it’s a good place to begin. It’ll provide us with a starting point for what to anticipate in the future. It should also give us a decent idea of how less resource-intensive games operate.
If you haven’t played Red Dead Redemption before, you should know that the graphics menu isn’t like those in other games where you can choose between low, medium, and high settings. Red Dead Redemption 2 has a slider system that enables you to choose between performance and quality.
With that in mind, we experimented with a few different settings and discovered that the lowest quality setting (in 1080p) delivered roughly 100FPS. Given the graphics demands this game places on your machine, it was rather impressive.
FPS dropped dramatically when the resolution and graphics sliders were gradually increased, with the average in 4K and 1440p being as low as 30 frames per second.
In 1080p at low, medium, and high settings, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare showed some respectable FPS numbers. In most graphics settings, including high, 1440p delivered much over 60FPS. Attempting to push into 4K resulted in a significant loss in frame rate, which was to be anticipated. Overall, I was amazed at how effectively this PC handled a game that is reputed to be very demanding.
Next up came Metro Exodus, another challenging game. The iBUYPOWER PC was able to achieve 70FPS+ in 1080p across most graphical settings, even when pushed to “extreme,” as seen in the benchmarks results. Moving to 1440p made things a bit more difficult, as we noticed our FPS dip below 50 for the first time in “intense” mode. 4K was hardly playable. However, we had to decrease the visuals to medium, and even then, we were seeing frequent reductions below 20. As a result, it’s probably not the greatest idea.
In terms of performance and graphics requirements, CS: GO was fairly close to Rainbow Six Siege. It’s a game with a lot of light, so it’s no surprise that the iBUYPOWER managed to get well over 200FPS in practically every graphical level. We won’t say much more about the performance of CS: GO since it runs on almost any PC out there. It’s still great to know that if you match this PC with a 240Hz panel, it will be able to offer the frames necessary for seamless gaming – in CS: GO, at least.
Then there came Total War: Warhammer II, a game that truly put some of the builds we’d been testing over the prior 6-12 months to the test. In terms of the iBUYPOWER, the game seems to run well at lower resolutions, particularly in 1080p and 1440p. In 1440p, we were witnessing good FPS values of up to 143 in low and 80 in the medium.
However, once you’ve reached that graphical limit, it’s all downhill in terms of FPS. On 1440p, you can bump up the visuals to high if you’re willing to play at roughly 50FPS. That said, that’s probably the limit of what this computer can achieve. At the lowest settings, FPS drops below 50 at 4K, thus it’s not really cut out to play this game at that resolution.
When we switched to Rainbox Six Siege, we witnessed a substantial boost in performance, with the iBUYPOWER PC achieving well over 150 FPS in 1080p and over 90 FPS in 1440p, respectively. We put a lot of various graphics options in Rainbow Six Siege to the test, and they all performed well in-game. However, we did notice a significant dip in FPS to approximately 30-50 while playing the game at 4K resolution.
Of course, this is a less demanding game that should work on a wide range of devices. However, given its competitive esports nature, knowing that this PC can push over 200FPS is always a plus – particularly if you intend on getting a high-performance 144hz+ display.
Multi-tasking and media editing are two examples of multi-tasking.
The iBUYPOWER will be tested in a variety of multi-tasking settings in the following section. This will then put the CPU’s single-core and multi-core performance to the test. The next tests will be a more complete assessment of the PC as a whole, while gaming is more demanding in the graphics sector.

Even though this build has been tailored toward gaming, we still like to check the PCs we receive in other scenarios. Multi–tasking and media editing are two examples of multi-tasking. Are two prime examples. Unlike the new line of Ryzen chips, the Intel i7-9700F that this build comes equipped with doesn’t make use of hyperthreaded technology. That means, theoretically speaking, the 9700F should be much worse in the workload department when compared to its Ryzen counterpart.
Fortunately, we recently put an iBUYPOWER PC with a Ryzen CPU to the test. As a result, we’ll have a better picture of how the two CPUs stack up against each other.
When it comes to multitasking processes, the 9700F is entirely equivalent to the Ryzen 3600, as seen in the figures above. However, the 3600 outperforms the 9700F in several applications, such as POV-Ray and V-RAY.
Streaming performance is another area where the i7-9700F falls short. Based on a machine with comparable specifications, the 3600 outperformed it considerably in almost every game (identical GPU). However, the i7-9700F wasn’t a total failure. It does provide decent streaming in a variety of graphics settings.
Would We Recommend It to Others?
Let’s take a look at this from the perspective of gaming. If you want to play most games in 1080p, the iBUYPOWER is an excellent choice. On the other hand, if you play competitive first-person shooters (such as Rainbow Six Siege or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive), you’ll be pleased with the performance of this PC. It will easily reach 150 FPS in most settings, allowing you to link it with a high-performance 144Hz display and entirely use G-Sync/ FreeSync.
If you want to play more immersive single-player games at 1440p, you’ll be delighted with the iBUYPOWER’s performance. It isn’t the finest globally, but it can handle less demanding games at approximately 70-100FPS. You may want to opt for a prebuilt with a little higher powerful GPU if you want to play high-intensive games like Call Of Duty and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Unfortunately, this PC cannot handle 4K – unless you’re planning on playing CS: GO. Most games will struggle, and you’ll be lucky to get more than 50 frames per second.
This is a good choice if you’re looking for an excellent compact gaming PC that can do most tasks at 1080p and 1440p.
On the other hand, the CPU in this PC (i7-9700F) isn’t the greatest for multi-tasking jobs. When compared to the iBUYPOWER PC with a Ryzen CPU, we found somewhat more significant performance drops. Furthermore, when it came to Photoshop benchmarks, it struggled to stream while gaming and was a touch slow.
In this case, I’d have to suggest that this build isn’t likely to be worth your money.
