Dell S2716DG monitor calibration settings are designed to help you get the most out of your monitor in terms of image quality and overall performance. The Dell S2716DG monitor is known for its poor color quality. Many users have complained about the sallow appearance right out of the box. Some have even experienced problems such as ghosting and unbalanced brightness in both light and dark conditions.

After this calibration, you will see a better quality image, sharper, brighter, and improved color production. I should point out that these instructions also work for calibrating the Dell S2716DGR, since both monitors have the same specifications. So whatever you use in between, these calibration settings should be good. But, first, let’s get rid of some things we need for this calibration.

Are you looking for ultra-wide monitors for gaming and productivity? Here are the best of them.

Dell S2716DG Calibration Requirements

  1. New Nvidia GPU model
  2. Nvidia drivers (make sure they come with the latest version of the Nvidia control panel for the installed GPU).
  3. DisplayPort, because you can only get G-Sync and a 144Hz refresh rate through DisplayPort and not HDMI.
  4. The Dell monitor driver can be downloaded from the Dell support site. (You can refer to this guide if you do not know how to download and install the drivers) When loading the driver, ensure you select the correct operating system and binary bit(s).
  5. Dell S2716GD manual, which can be downloaded from the Dell Support site.
  6. You will also need the Nvidia GeForce drivers and the Nvidia Control Panel from GeForce support. You should also ensure that the driver version you download matches your GPU.

Calibrating the Dell S2716GD

Before proceeding with the calibration, I would like to ask you to connect the monitor to the GPU correctly. Ensure the desktop image is displayed and that you have downloaded and received all necessary tools and software for calibration. You also want to set the screen resolution to 2560 x 1440p and the refresh rate to 144 Hz. You also need to set G-Sync to your preferred levels. If you have a DisplayPort cable, you should have no problem with either.

If you have trouble setting the response time, I recommend setting it to Normal or 3ms, as this seems to be the most balanced setting between response time and image quality. Of course, this doesn’t mean you can’t set Fast or 1ms. Some users have complained that this causes noticeable ghosting, but if not, you can stick with Fast or 1ms.

In rare cases, the result of this procedure may be different from what you expect. I’m not saying it works for everyone. However, by continuing and following this process, you understand that you do so at your own risk and are responsible for the outcome.

Step 1: Nvidia and Dell S2716DG drivers install

  1. Users have confirmed that it is unnecessary to run the installation program as an administrator, especially if you are installing it on a personal computer. However, if you have problems, you can run it as an administrator and see if that helps.
  2. You can also choose a custom installation instead of an express installation. Check all boxes except the Perform Clean Installation box. Do not use a clean install unless you have issues with the installation and/or have an OEM GPU driver installed.

After installing the Nvidia drivers, restart your computer and make sure that everything is working properly before proceeding to install the Dell S2716DG drivers.

Looking for a cheap gaming monitor for the PS4 and PS5? Here are the best of them.

While the Dell S2716DG printer drivers didn’t seem to offer much improvement in color quality, they could set a color profile, and for some reason, that color profile made the image look better than when it wasn’t on the computer.

Installation of the driver is very simple and easy, even for beginners. However, when you are done, I recommend that you reboot the computer one more time before proceeding with the actual calibration.

Step 2: OSD (On-Screen Display) calibration

You can navigate and manipulate this setting using the physical buttons on the lower right of the monitor. But, first, have the following levels defined.

Monitor

  1. Brightness (level) : 75%
  2. Contrast (Level) : 77%

Customer colour

  1. Red (level) : 97%
  2. Green (level) : 99%
  3. Blue (level) : 96%

Step 3: Calibrating Nvidia Control Panel

To open the Nvidia Control Panel, right-click on the desktop background and select Nvidia Control Panel. You can also find the Nvidia Control Panel by typing it into the search bar when using Windows 10.

Once you have Nvidia open, select Desktop Color Settings on the left side of the screen > select Use Nvidia Settings on the right >; we will use the color channel drop-down menu to switch between the different groups of settings but check that the default is set to All Channels. If everything is OK, use the following settings.

All channels

  1. Brightness (level) : +45%
  2. Contrast (Level) : +55%
  3. Gamma: +0.96
  4. Digital Vibration (Level) : +45%

Red channel

  1. Brightness (level) : +40%
  2. Contrast (Level) : +70%
  3. Gamma: +100

Green channel

  1. Brightness (level) : +50%
  2. Contrast (Level) : +50%
  3. Gamma: +0.89

Blue channel

  1. Brightness (level) : +50%
  2. Contrast (Level) : +50%
  3. Gamma: +1.00

Make sure you have entered the settings correctly and that you have applied the changes. Next, close the Nvidia Control Panel and restart the computer to see if the settings have been applied. The calibration options for the Dell S2716DG are not very complicated, and if you follow the steps below, you should already be able to see visible improvements in color quality.
