Bringing a nice drink to your destination is a fantastic way to create lasting memories. Memories of waiting for your flight in a chilly, half-empty terminal with a cup of hot coffee poured from an insulated bottle in your hand. These kinds of recollections bring a smile to your face because you recall the hot beverage.
In these circumstances, insulated bottles are helpful since they keep your beverages hot or cold when you need or want them. Stanley’s Go Bottle guarantees not to impart a metallic flavor to your drink, which is familiar with stainless steel bottles. What’s the secret? The coating is made of ceramic. Is it, however, effective? Let’s have a look.
Aesthetics & Materials
Ceramic is used extensively in creating the Go Bottle, as the name implies. Unlike other stainless steel bottles, the Go Bottle has Ceramivac, double-wall vacuum insulation BPA-free. The term “stainless steel on the exterior, ceramic on the inside” is marketing jargon meaning stainless steel on the outside and ceramic on the inside. There’s rubber on the bottom for extra traction on slick terrain. In any case, ceramic plays a crucial role in removing the metallic flavor typically associated with stainless steel bottles. We’ll go over it in greater detail later, but be warned: it does make a noticeable impact.
16 oz. Stanley Go Bottle with Ceramivac | The outside is made of stainless steel. The Go Bottle’s construction seems sturdy, apart from the subtle change ceramic makes. It doesn’t feel cheap or like it would buckle if you hold it too tightly. Although the Stanley emblem is debossed, scratching the colorful finish off the lettering’s edges with your fingertips is rare. The bottle is available in a variety of colors, including Asphalt (gray), Tungsten (blue), Granite (very light gray), Hunter (cyan), and Nordic Blue are some of the colors available.
We have the Asphalt version, butsome of us prefers the Olive Drab since we like Stanley’s old-school appearance (the company itself dates back to 1913). However, the Go Bottle’s overall appearance is more modern than classical, particularly with the other hues. If you want a two-tone appearance, pair them with a black cap. The branding is prominent but not tacky—Stanley has been in the drinkware business for a long time, and the gleaming logo reflects that.
Usage
The Go Bottle has a basic, canister-like shape with no protrusions or protruding parts. The hinged handle that folds smoothly around the top is essential to preserving this slimmer profile. This reduces the bottle’s size, which is crucial if you’re already stuffing your luggage to the brim and need every inch of room you can get. After all, if you play your cards correctly, an additional inch saved may go a long way.
I am attaching the Stanley Go Bottle with Ceramivac 16 oz to our backpack. The fact that it’s hinged is a trade-off with this kind of handle. It can quickly move back and forth, which is beneficial while carrying it by hand. When we connected the Go Bottle to the carabiner on our backpack, however, we discovered that it could swing long. That said, if your backpack includes a specific water bottle compartment, none of these will be a problem.
The Go Bottle’s bottom is rubberized to prevent it from slipping around your table. We’ve seen half-empty stainless steel bottles floating across wet, shiny surfaces, but it doesn’t happen very frequently. Because of the rubberized bottom, this is unlikely to happen to the Go Bottle.
16 oz. Stanley Go Bottle with Ceramivac | The lid is simple to detach and seals properly. The Go Bottle’s lid screws on and closes tightly around the bottle. The top is quite tall and deep for a 16-ounce bottle. It doesn’t open as quickly as other insulated bottles with a pop-open lid, but it does the job.
The go Bottle’s most significant flaw after the main cover is the detachable see-through cap. This kind of component is typical in insulated bottles. However, we found this one to be difficult to use. After pouring a hot beverage in, gently put this cap to enson ure it’s well placed. If you don’t, you’ll have to jiggle it and risk spilling your drink inside the lid. There’s even the possibility that the cap may fall inside.
16 oz. Stanley Go Bottle with Ceramivac | This is the spout-equipped, detachable plastic cap. Furthermore, even with regular cleaning, we noticed a significant material deterioration after three months of usage. Otherwise, the Go Bottle has held up nicely in our automatic dishwasher after many washes.
The ceramic coating came into play after we got the plastic cover in place and poured ourselves a lovely hot drink. We’ve gotten used to the metallic taste of stainless steel drinkware after many interactions with the material. The ceramic coating on the Go Bottle, on the other hand, prevents this. We double-checked by drinking cold water straight from the bottle, which didn’t taste metallic.
If you’re sensitive to metallic flavors or want your beverage to maintain its natural flavor, this is a big bonus. Some stainless steel bottles need several washing to remove the taste, but the Go Bottle is free of it right out of the box.
16 oz. Stanley Go Bottle with Ceramivac | Our coffee was not tainted by the bottle’s metallic flavor. Because of the plastic top, using the Go Bottle wasn’t the most pleasant experience, but we learned to live with it. We also made it a point to line the cap’s spout with the Stanley emblem so we could always tell which direction the opening was pointing. It’s a little tweak, but we believe it’s worth remembering.
We’re generally suspicious of businesses that use fancy names like Ceramivac and approach with caution. The good news is that it works, and although the ceramic coating may not “wow” everyone, it makes a difference in flavor.
