RAVPower’s AC750 FileHub could be the best gadget for a traveler. It’s packed with features that won’t let you down on the road.
Technology is getting smarter these days. Multifunctional devices are popping up everywhere to support your interest in innovation. However, not all of them are really useful. Most of the added features seem like a gadget and won’t be very useful.
RAVPower’s FileHub AC750 claims to be a 3-in-1 device. Whether it can change your life or whether it’s more of a gadget, we’ll see in this magazine.
RAVPower FileHub AC750 Overview
The RAVPower FileHub AC750 has a very robust and elegant design. It is made of metal with a matte black finish that feels very comfortable. It measures 4.45 x 3.03 x 0.91 inches and weighs 7 ounces.
On the front panel of the unit itself, you will see 5 LED indicators. Each display informs you about the current status of your device and the battery life.
On the right side of FileHub, there is only the electric screwdriver. It is very elegantly placed and feels good.
On the left-hand side of the FileHub, there is a WiFi button that allows you to switch between 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bandwidth. There is also a micro SD slot adapter that allows you to use an SD card reader to upload files to FileHub. There is also a button to switch from SD card to USB card depending on what you want to use.
On the top edge of the camera is an Ethernet connection cable, a USB-A port and a USB-C port (some models have a micro-USB port) for charging the camera itself.
I really like the quality of the design and construction. The design is really good and it is very robust and elegant.
Wireless hard disk
So the RAVPower FileHub AC750 is essentially a wireless portable hard drive, much like the Sandisk Connect we reviewed last year. It transmits its own WiFi signal that allows you to wirelessly store and retrieve data from the device to your hard drive.
This is the most important feature and probably the most important reason why you are considering buying this unit. These days everything is about storage space, and if you are one of those people who can’t get enough storage space, wireless hard drives are just great.
If you haven’t read my previous review: Wireless storage systems offer many benefits, not just freshness. It eliminates OTG adapters, extra cables, all of which can be easily lost. Sharing files is also easier because other people can access your files with a simple password. And finally (and this is important to me), it can bypass the IOS and Windows barrier.
For those of you who don’t know: If you are an iOS user, your USB flash drive will not work in Windows unless you format it and then delete all the files you want to transfer.
I even borrowed a USB drive with the entire Game of Thrones series from a friend and was planning to copy it. She uses an Apple laptop and I could not open the drive to copy the files. With this wireless hard drive, this barrier can be bypassed and files can be accessed.
RAVPower’s FileHub AC750 provides this capability with a very high file transfer rate of 8-12Mbps. It is also very easy to use. Just download an application called RAV FileHub, which is available in the Google PlayStore and the iTunes Store. When the connection is established, the default password is 11111111.
What makes RAVPower’s FileHub AC750 unique is that it also works as a portable router. This means that it can convert an Ethernet cable connection into a wireless connection. Just like the routers in your home, but smaller and with its own battery for portability.
The Ethernet port, located on the top of the unit, is used for this purpose. Once you plug an Ethernet cable into this port, it can convert it into its own WiFi, which can be connected to up to 5 devices.
It’s an interesting position, especially if you travel a lot. I’ve personally experienced going to a station and they didn’t have WiFi service. All they offered was an Ethernet cable that can only be connected to a laptop. RAVPower’s FileHub AC750 can solve this problem and broadcast the wireless connection.
Another great feature of this device is that it can be used as a repeater. For example, when my friend was in the hospital and I had to stay there for two days. The hospital offers a Wi-Fi service that is only suitable for one device. RAVPower’s FileHub AC750 can connect to this wifi and distribute it as its own. It can also hold up to 5 devices at a time. Note that when you connect via a WLAN bridge, the internet speed will be slowed down.
As a router, RAVPower’s FileHub AC750 offers 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz bandwidth. It can reach 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 433 Mbps at 5.0 GHz.
Last but not least: RAVPower’s FileHub AC750 can be used as a power bank in case of emergency. It has a battery capacity of 6,700 mAh, which is not very impressive for a power bank. You can also buy cheaper batteries that have a higher capacity than this unit.
Still, you wouldn’t buy this product for its energy-saving capabilities. That would be the icing on the cake for a real emergency. If you want to use it as a power bank, the output port is USB-A, located on the top of the device.
In addition, USB-A is the input port of the device. Here you can charge the RAVPower FileHub AC750 yourself. The old version integrated the Micro-USB, while the new version integrated a USB-C port.
RAVPower FileHub AC750 Overview
Rated 9 out of 10
I really like the concept of this product. I’m a big fan of wireless hard drives, they make life so much easier. Not only is it a wireless hard drive, but it also offers a unique way to tackle the wireless crisis. You may not always need it, but when you do, it can save your life. If you travel a lot, this can make the difference between boredom and the total freedom of Wi-Fi.
What I like most is the price. It is cheap and offers value for money. The quality of the product is impressive and very elegant.
But I wish he had more autonomy. Currently, run time should be 5-6 hours with heavy use. I wish it had a bigger battery to increase the duty cycle. Also, if you connect to Wi-Fi and then disconnect, you have to start all over again. The device does not remember which Wi-Fi it was previously connected to, so you need to re-enter the password.
Nevertheless, RAVPower’s FileHub AC750 is highly recommended and very impressive. It’s definitely worth buying, especially if you travel a lot. You can buy the RAVPower FileHub AC750 on Amazon.com.

How does RAVPower work?
The RavPower dossier centre is very promising. It consists of a travel router and a portable battery, a card reader and a media server. You can use it to copy files from your SD card to a USB flash drive without a laptop, or to stream music, photos and videos to your TV, phone, laptop or tablet.
